Communication students in Susan Whiteside's Advertising Creative Strategy classes (COMM 3360) are creating ads for the Bernardo Kohler Center to help build awareness of human trafficking. They are designing posters, outdoor billboards, flyers to be used in training materials, and traditional magazine ads. The focus of the ads is to help people identify victims of human trafficking, as well as to gain donations for BKC. What a great way to put into practice the mission of our university which encourages students "to confront the critical issues of society and to seek justice and peace" by recognizing "their responsibility to the world community."
The Bernardo Kohler Center has worked to bring legal services to Texas immigrants since 2001. The Center's mission is to provide education and assistance to immigrants and legal professionals in immigration issues. BKC focuses on helping those most in need, such as abandoned children and human trafficking victims.
