This week, students in Susan Whiteside's COMM 3360 Advertising Creative Strategy presented posters and postcards designed to solicit donations for Agua for Managua. The organization was founded by a group of high school students after they participated in a church mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua and became aware of the lack of clean water and the living conditions in that area. Over the past two years, the organization has raised funding for and implemented water-based projects such as installation of a water purification system for the school in Managua. The advertising materials designed by St. Edward’s students will be used to support fundraising efforts to expand the Eden Center school in Managua and to collect Spanish-language books for children.
Dr. Corinne Weisgerber, associate professor of Communication was invited to give a talk on educational technology and social media pedagogy at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University, a public research university in Paris, France.
Dr. Weisgerber will present her talk entitled "Du professeur connecté à l'étudiant connecté: vers une pédagogie stratégique des médias sociaux"* to faculty and researchers at the Sorbonne on January 7th.
